The Integrated Reporting U.S. Community was launched over three years ago as a way to shine a light on the diverse emerging approaches to integrated thinking, management and reporting in the U.S.  We have over 450 people on our mailing list and have hosted 36 conversations with corporate leaders, academics and investors (most are available on our website and YouTube channel). I think it’s fair to say that we all share an interest in advancing more holistic, integrated thinking in business.

Our community has always been an informal organization that worked in support of the International Integrated Reporting Council (IIRC) but not officially part of it.  As you have probably heard, the IIRC is planning to merge with the Sustainability Accounting Standards Board (SASB).  While we are not directly affected by this change, it does represent a significant shift in the ecosystem. And it raises a number of questions:

  • What does this mean for the integrated/multi-capital approach?
  • What should we do as a community in the face of this change?
  • How could/should we shape the future of our movement?

Our Operating Committee decided that the best way to begin developing answers to these questions would be to convene an open conversation with the members of our community. We want to hear your thoughts and suggestions on how to shape the future we would like to see.  Please join us!
